Cycle syncing has become a Godsend for me when it comes to relieving fibroid symptoms and balancing my hormones. Most of the time I have very mild to no symptoms at all.
What is Cycle Syncing
Cycle syncing is a biohacking method used to help women achieve hormonal balance and live in flow with their menstrual cycle. I could do a 5-page explanation of exactly how to practice cycle syncing and how it works, but I’ll spare you. This will be a quick general overview to help you get the gist.
To simplify it, cycle syncing is the practice of planning your diet and lifestyle around your menstrual cycle.
You eat more of certain foods during certain parts of your cycle and focus on certain types of life activities.
Life still revolves around your period but in a new helpful way. Instead of forcing yourself to do things you’re not naturally in the mood to do, you can work your life into a more efficient flow.
You can avoid having to cancel plans because of intense pain or an uncontrollable and unpredictable mood swing, Predict your mood and energy levels and arrange your life and diet accordingly.
Benefits of Biohacking Your Menstrual Cycle
Before you cringe at the thought of trying to plan your life around the current roller coaster of your hormones – hear me out:
Cycle syncing allows you to focus on giving your body what it needs when it needs it. While your body could use all the nutrients all of the time, there are specific nutrients that are key to your hormonal health during certain phases of your menstrual cycle.
Your body can become more predictable. Women with uterine fibroids often experience a host of symptoms from irregular periods, chronic bloating to mood swings and depression. These symptoms can make living everyday life difficult to manage. CS helps you predict fluctuations in your mood and your body to reduce these fibroid symptoms and the negative impact they have on your life.
My favorite benefit has been the mindset shift. Learning the fluctuations in your body allows you to grant yourself more grace and focus on giving your body what it needs instead of focusing on what’s wrong with your body.
The charts in this post give a general overview of the activities and foods I consume. Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be doing a deeper dive into the practice and some tweaks I make to specifically address fibroids.
